About AnyGuess
AnyGuess is a two-player face-deduction game with a twist: the deck is not fixed. Type any theme — "Real Madrid players", "Roman emperors", "deep sea fish" — and the game builds a board of 24 real faces for it on the spot.
You and a friend each secretly pick a card, then take turns asking yes/no questions and flipping down the faces you have ruled out. First to name the other's card wins. Rooms are private: a six-character code or an invite link is the only way in, and there is no matchmaking with strangers.
How decks are made
An AI language model proposes candidate subjects for your theme; every candidate is then verified against Wikipedia, and only subjects whose articles have a freely licensed lead image make the board. Pictures come from Wikimedia projects, each under its own free license — per-image attribution is on the card's info control and collected at /credits. Subjects nobody has photographed get a typographic card instead, so any theme is playable.
AI disclosure: deck contents (names, descriptions, categorisation) are AI-generated and can be wrong. Where a card's artwork is AI-generated rather than a photograph, it is labelled "AI illustration" on the card.
The technology
A WebGL board with real physics, a WebSocket server that holds the truth of every match, and a test system with hundreds of checks behind every release. English only for now.
